This position will lead the general accounting functions, including journal entries, reconciliations, month-end close, and financial reporting, while ensuring that all activities are aligned with company goals and accounting standards. The ideal candidate will be a hands-on leader with a strong background in accounting, preferably in the real estate industry.
General Accounting Operations:
- Oversee and ensure the timely processing of daily financial transactions, including journal entries, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger entries.
- Manage and review account reconciliations, ensuring that discrepancies are identified and resolved in a timely manner.
- Monitor and review the accuracy of financial data and ensure proper documentation and compliance with company policies.
Month-End & Year-End Closing:
- Lead the month-end and year-end closing processes, ensuring all financial transactions are recorded, reconciled, and reported in accordance with established deadlines.
- Review financial statements for accuracy and completeness, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow reports.
- Assist in preparing year-end schedules and working papers for audits and tax filings.
Financial Reporting & Analysis:
- Assist in the preparation of internal financial reports for management, providing insights into financial performance, trends, and variances.
- Ensure the timely and accurate submission of financial reports to stakeholders, including investors, regulatory authorities, and senior management.
- Prepare reports and analysis related to property management, lease accounting, and real estate transactions.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. Certified Public Accountant
- 5+ years of accounting experience, including at least 2 years in a supervisory or leadership role.
- Experience in real estate accounting, property management, or construction accounting is preferred.
- Familiarity with accounting software
