Role Description
This is a full-time hybrid working time role for a General Accounting Supervisor based in Cebu.
Role 1: Financial Statement Preparation and Analysis
a. Compiling, analyzing, and reporting financial data.
b. Accurate, complete, and timely recording of financial transactions.
c. Creating periodic reports, such as balance sheets, profit & loss statements, etc.
d. Presenting data to the management team.
Role 2: Budgeting and Forecasting
b. Monitor and track financial performance against the established budget and provide feedback on identified financial performance issues.
Role 3: Tax Planning and Compliance
a. Ensure that all tax obligations are met on time while maximizing tax efficiency.
b. Analyze financial data and transactions to identify opportunities for minimizing tax liabilities within the legal framework.
c. Stay updated with the latest tax laws and regulations to make sure that the business optimize its tax positions.
d. Ensure that the business adhere to all applicable tax laws and regulations and filing accurate and timely tax returns.
e. Provide advice and guidance on tax strategies, helping the management make informed decisions that align with the financial goals.
f. Maintain proper records and documentation to support tax filings, ensuring transparency and mitigating the risk of audits or penalties.
Role 4: Internal Controls and Risk Management
a. Assess and evaluate the effectiveness of internal controls by:
i. Identifying potential risks and vulnerabilities,
ii. Propose control activities to mitigate said risks and vulnerabilities
iii. Monitor the implementation and effectiveness of said control activities
b. Help manage risks by:
i. Identifying and assessing risks impacting the company's financial performance and reputation. This includes:
§ Analyzing market trends,
§ Proposing mitigation initiatives
§ Identifying the potential risks,
§ Regulatory change management.
ii. Collaborate with other departments and stakeholders to integrate risk management processes into the organization's governance framework.
iii. Provide guidance and support in implementing risk management initiatives and monitor their effectiveness over time.
iv. Manage internal controls and mitigate risks.
Role 5: Financial Advisory and Decision Support
a. Create and discuss with the management financial forecasts and projections, conduct cost analysis, and evaluate investment opportunities.
b. Help guide budgeting and financial planning, helping the business allocate resources effectively.
g. Assist in assessing the financial health of a business by analyzing key performance indicators (KPIs) and financial ratios.
