What does a day in the life of a General Accounting Specialist II look like
- Process a high volume of accounting transactions efficiently and accurately, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger entries.
- Follow directions on method and processes of account reconciliations, trouble-shooting and resolving escalated issues as needed.
- Respond to customer emails and calls in a courteous, professional, and timely manner
- Reconcile bank statements and identify discrepancies.
- Prepare and maintain accurate accounting reports and documentation.
- Own complex account reconciliations during the month-end closing procedures.
- Ensure adherence to Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and internal accounting controls.
What are the required qualifications of a General Accounting Specialist II
- Must have a minimum of two years of experience in General Accounting
- Demonstrated ability to apply US GAAP in day-to-day general accounting tasks, including reconciliations, reporting, and month-end close procedures
- A degree in Business or Accounting is required.
- Certified Public Accountant (PH), Licensed
- Possess strong computer skills, including MS Word and MS Excel
- Overtime may be required occasionally.
- Nice-to-have: NetSuite and Coupa (tools background)
