The General Accounting Manager is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the general accounting function.
This includes maintaining the general ledger, overseeing bank reconciliations, ensuring accurate and timely month-end and
year-end close processes, and supporting financial reporting. The role involves managing a team of accountants and ensuring
compliance with internal policies and external regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
• Supervise and manage daily operations of the general accounting department, including accounts payable, accounts
receivable, fixed assets, and general ledger.
• Oversee and review monthly bank reconciliations, ensuring accuracy and prompt resolution of discrepancies.
• Lead monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting.
• Prepare and review journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial reports.
• Ensure compliance with GAAP, corporate accounting policies, and relevant regulations.
• Coordinate and support internal and external audits.
• Develop and implement accounting procedures and internal controls to improve efficiency and mitigate risk.
• Assist in budgeting and forecasting processes, including variance analysis.
• Lead and mentor accounting staff, providing guidance and professional development.
• Collaborate with other departments to support overall company goals and initiatives.
• Identify opportunities for process improvements and automation
Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in Accountancy, or a related field (Master's or CPA preferred).
• 5–7 years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or management role.
• Strong knowledge of US GAAP and financial reporting requirements.
• Proven experience in preparing and reviewing bank reconciliations and resolving discrepancies in a timely manner.
• Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, NetSuite) and Microsoft Excel.
• Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
• Ability to lead, motivate, and develop a team.
• High level of integrity and attention to detail
