Role Description The General Accounting Manager (CPA) is a full-time, on-site role based in Makati, responsible for overseeing the bank's general accounting operations and ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial records. The role includes managing the preparation, review, and analysis of financial statements in compliance with applicable accounting standards, regulatory requirements, and internal policies. This position supervises the recording of journal entries, reconciliation of accounts, and maintenance of the general ledger, including the monitoring and accounting of fixed assets. The General Accounting Manager coordinates with internal and external auditors, supports tax and regulatory reporting, and implements process improvements to enhance efficiency and controls. The role also involves leading and developing the accounting team, providing guidance on complex accounting issues, and collaborating with other departments on financial and operational matters.
Qualifications
- Strong technical expertise in Accounting and Finance, with the ability to interpret and apply accounting standards and regulatory requirements.
- Proficiency in preparing, reviewing, and analyzing Financial Statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
- Hands-on experience with Journal Entries (Accounting) and general ledger management, including account reconciliations and month-end and year-end closing activities.
- Knowledge and practical experience in accounting for Fixed Assets, including capitalization, depreciation, disposals, and related reconciliations.
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license required; bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Several years of progressive experience in general accounting or financial reporting, preferably in banking or financial services, with supervisory or managerial experience.
- Proficiency in accounting and ERP systems, advanced MS Excel skills, and strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Effective leadership, coaching, and team management skills, with the ability to work collaboratively across functions and meet tight deadlines.
- High level of integrity, attention to detail, and commitment to accuracy and compliance.
