About the role

Join our dynamic team as a General Accountant. In this full-time role, you will be responsible for the administration, coordination, and directing the work of the General Accounting Department to support our thriving law firm operations. Based in our Taguig City, Metro Manila office, you will play a key part in maintaining our organization's excellence.

What you'll be doing

  • Monitor and check vouchers prepared by staff which includes verifying requests for payment and the correctness of account charging, monitoring the check numbers assigned, and posting to the Accounting System.
  • Monitor recording of Official Receipts
  • Check payroll deductions, journal vouchers, various bank reconciliations, requests for payments (RFPs), and petty cash vouchers
  • Checking and E-filing of BIR returns prepared for monthly/quarterly BIR remittances of withholding tax compensation/expanded and VAT
  • Sign BIR withholding tax certificates to be issued to suppliers
  • Check the maintenance of various accounts and subsidiary ledgers, and the monthly Financial Statement and Balance Sheet schedules generated in the Accounting System
  • Perform account analyses, and support external audit services
  • Assist in tax preparation, filing, and compliance with government requirements.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and accounting standards
  • Attend to other queries from other departments and clients; and
  • Perform other accounting and finance-related duties as assigned

What we're looking for

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accountancy, CPA preferred and priority
  • At least 2-3 years of relevant accounting experience in financial reporting, general ledger management and tax compliance; Fresh graduates are still welcome to apply
  • Proficient in using Microsoft Excel and any accounting software
  • Excellent attention to detail, and strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
  • Able to prepare financial reports, perform reconciliations, and support month-end closing activities
  • Ability to work well independently and as part of a team
  • Willingness to work on a Monday to Friday schedule
