The ideal candidate will have substantial exposure to monthly closing processes, forecasting and budgeting, and customer billing. They will be organized and approach each issue with an analytical mindset.
Responsibilities
- Prepare, record, and maintain accurate accounting entries, journal vouchers, and general ledger transactions.
- Perform monthly bank reconciliations and ensure timely resolution of outstanding reconciling items.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and management reports.
- Monitor and reconcile accounts receivable, accounts payable, intercompany accounts, and other balance sheet accounts.
- Assist in the month-end and year-end closing process, including preparation of schedules, accruals, and adjusting entries.
- Ensure compliance with Philippine Financial Reporting Standards (PFRS), company policies, and regulatory requirements.
- Prepare schedules and supporting documents for internal and external audits.
- Assist in the preparation and filing of tax returns, including VAT, withholding taxes, and other statutory requirements.
- Monitor fixed asset records, depreciation schedules, asset acquisitions, transfers, and disposals.
- Review financial transactions and supporting documents to ensure completeness, accuracy, and proper authorization.
- Analyze financial data and identify discrepancies, unusual transactions, and opportunities for process improvement.
- Coordinate with department heads regarding budget monitoring, expense management, and financial reporting requirements.
- Maintain accurate accounting records and ensure proper filing of financial documents for audit and compliance purposes.
- Support the Finance Manager in budgeting, forecasting, cash flow monitoring, and other financial planning activities.
- Ensure adherence to internal controls and recommend improvements to strengthen financial governance and operational efficiency.
Qualifications
- 3+ years of professional accounting experience
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Economics or equivalent experience
- CPA preferred
