We are looking for an experienced Fund Accounting Team Lead – Private Equity to join our growing Fund Accounting team.
This role is ideal for a fund accounting professional with strong experience supporting Private Equity Funds and proven leadership capability. You will be responsible for overseeing day-to-day fund accounting activities, reviewing team deliverables, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting, and supporting the development of a high-performing team.

What You'll Do
Fund Accounting Operations
- Oversee day-to-day fund accounting activities for Private Equity Funds.
- Review and ensure the accuracy and completeness of fund accounting deliverables.
- Support NAV preparation and review, cash and position reconciliations, and General Ledger activities.
- Review accounting entries, trial balances, financial schedules, and supporting documentation.
- Ensure fund accounting activities are completed accurately and within established deadlines.
- Investigate accounting discrepancies and reconciliation breaks and ensure timely resolution.
Private Equity Fund Activities
- Support accounting activities across the Private Equity fund lifecycle.
- Review and process capital calls, investor contributions, distributions, and partner allocations.
- Support accounting for portfolio investments and related transactions.
- Review investor capital balances, commitments, and other Private Equity-related accounting activities.
- Assist with financial statement preparation and quarterly and annual reporting requirements.
Team Leadership
- Lead and supervise a team of Fund Accounting professionals.
- Review the team's work and provide guidance to ensure accuracy, quality, and timely delivery.
- Coach and mentor team members on fund accounting processes and Private Equity accounting concepts.
- Monitor team performance, workload, and deliverables against established targets.
- Identify training and development needs and support continuous improvement within the team.
- Serve as a point of escalation for complex accounting issues.
Quality & Process Improvement
- Perform regular quality control reviews to ensure accurate and consistent fund accounting outputs.
- Identify process gaps, recurring issues, and operational risks.
- Recommend and implement improvements to accounting processes and workflows.
- Support the development and maintenance of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
- Promote best practices and improve efficiency across the Fund Accounting function.
Stakeholder Management
- Collaborate with Fund Controllers, Managers, clients, fund administrators, and internal stakeholders.
- Communicate accounting issues, variances, and operational risks clearly and proactively.
- Support audit requirements and provide accurate documentation and explanations when required.
- Build effective working relationships with global stakeholders and ensure service delivery standards are consistently met.
What You'll Bring
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience in the Financial Services industry.
- At least 3 years of hands-on Fund Accounting experience.
- Proven experience supporting Private Equity Funds.
- At least 1 year of strong leadership or supervisory experience, including reviewing work, coaching team members, and managing deliverables.
- Strong understanding of fund accounting principles and Private Equity fund structures.
- Experience with NAV, reconciliations, financial reporting, capital calls, distributions, and investor accounting.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with exceptional attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet strict financial reporting deadlines.
- Strong Microsoft Excel skills and experience working with fund accounting or financial systems.
It's a Bonus If You Have
- Experience supporting multiple Private Equity fund structures.
- Exposure to waterfall calculations, carried interest, preferred returns, and investor allocations.
- Experience with fund accounting platforms such as Advent Geneva, Investran, eFront, Allvue, or similar systems.
- CPA, CFA, CAIA, or progress toward a relevant professional qualification.
- Experience working with global fund administrators, asset managers, or alternative investment firms.
- Experience driving process improvements, automation, or finance transformation initiatives.
