Job Description
The role is a supervisory-level (Senior Associate) and managerial role (Officer) role responsible for ensuring the accurate and timely delivery of Private Markets NAV accounting services. The role serves as the primary reviewer for Associates, providing technical guidance, quality oversight, and objective performance feedback while supporting the overall execution of daily business-as-usual (BAU) activities.
Key Responsibilities
- NAV Operations & Fund Accounting
· Execute and oversee end-to-end NAV accounting processes for private markets and alternative investment funds.
· Review fund accounting packages, financial reports, capital activity, and supporting schedules for accuracy and completeness.
Review & Quality Control
· Perform detailed reviews of work prepared by Associates and other preparers.
· Ensure adherence to internal controls, operating procedures, and client-specific requirements.
· Identify errors, trends, and process gaps and implement corrective actions where appropriate.
· Serve as a quality gatekeeper to maintain high standards of accuracy and client service.
· Escalate material risks, issues, or control concerns to management in a timely manner.
Team Supervision & Coaching
· Provide day-to-day guidance, technical support, and supervision to Associates.
· Conduct quality reviews and provide clear, objective, and constructive feedback to team members.
· Support onboarding and training of new hires.
· Assist management in monitoring team workload, productivity, and quality metrics.
· Foster a culture of accountability, continuous learning, and operational excellence.
Client & Stakeholder Management
· Manage routine client communications and inquiries professionally and promptly.
· Participate in client calls and discussions regarding fund accounting matters.
Continuous Improvement
· Identify opportunities for process enhancement, automation, and operational efficiency.
Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field.
· 4-7 years (SA) 7+ years (Officer) of experience in Alternative Investments, Private Markets, or Fund Accounting.
· Strong understanding of the complete Private Markets NAV cycle.
· Experience reviewing and approving fund accounting deliverables.
· Prior experience mentoring, coaching, or supervising junior team members.
· Experience supporting client communications, audits, and tax-related deliverables.
· Strong understanding of Capital calls and distributions, General Partner and Limited Partner, Partner capital allocations, Investment valuation principles, Financial statement preparation, Alternative investment structures, Fund accounting controls and reconciliations
· Systems knowledge on Geneva and Investran is preferred.
