About the Role
As a Fund Accounting Subject Matter Expert, you will act as the go-to expert for complex accounting matters, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and high-quality deliverables. You will drive key decisions, lead process improvements, and guide the team in managing sophisticated client portfolios.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform final review and sign-off on fund accounting reports, calculations, and deliverables
- Ensure accuracy, completeness, and timeliness of financial reporting
- Serve as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) for complex accounting transactions and processes
- Lead technical excellence and process improvements within the team
- Manage and resolve complex client and stakeholder queries
- Represent the team in client and internal meetings
- Oversee and ensure data accuracy in reports and dashboards
- Review and approve SOPs, controls, and workflows
- Monitor team deliverables, SLAs, and deadlines
- Conduct performance reviews and coaching for team members
- Support client onboarding, change requests, and system/product enhancements
- Ensure compliance with regulatory, audit, and internal standards
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA preferred)
- Minimum 6 years of relevant experience in fund accounting, financial reporting, or audit
- Strong background in complex portfolios and advanced accounting processes
- Proven experience as a Subject Matter Expert (SME)
- In-depth knowledge of accounting standards and regulatory frameworks
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and leadership skills
- Detail-oriented with ability to work under pressure and lead effectively
