The Investor Reporting/Investor Accounting Analyst II is a mid-level position responsible for performing financial analysis and reporting, focusing on accuracy, compliance, and process improvement. The position requires experience in data interpretation, effective collaboration with teams, and a commitment to enhancing reporting quality and operational efficiency.
The IR/IA Analyst II contributes to investor reporting processes associated with mortgage servicing rights (MSR) and investor accounts.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform the 7 R's (Reporting, Remitting, Reconciliation, Research, Root Cause Identification, Resolution, and Remediation) at the loan and pool levels, ensuring accuracy and compliance with minimal supervision.
- Apply mathematical and statistical techniques to track investor reporting and test for cash exceptions. Mitigate financial risks, including compensatory, audit risks, and financial risks for mortgage servicing rights (MSR) owners.
- Participate in client meetings, propose actionable solutions, and offer strategic action plans with minimal assistance. Maintain detailed records of client interactions and effectively communicate using pre-approved email templates.
- Complete monthly client performance reports, ensure accurate key metrics updates, analyze significant trends or spikes, and identify aged items.
- Participate in team projects and process improvement initiatives by contributing insights, documenting key discussions, and aligning actions with strategic objectives. Conduct analyses of work products to identify trends, variances, and improvement opportunities that optimize efficiency, ensure consistency, and support organizational goals.
- Contribute at least two process improvements annually, focusing on automation, streamlined communication, and enhanced efficiency.
- Mentor and assist in training junior analysts on investor reporting processes, tools, and best practices. Engage in training and development opportunities to enhance skills and grow professionally.
- Follow policies and procedures and checklists for cut-off activities to ensure reporting deadlines are met. Contribute to maintaining Policies and Procedures for assigned investors located in Confluence.
- Perform additional duties and initiatives as assigned by leadership to support business growth and operational goals.
Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent in Mathematics, Finance, Economics, or closely related field.
- 2-4 years experience in Investor Reporting
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel (e.g., Pivot Tables, VLOOKUPs) for efficient data analysis and organization. Skilled in Microsoft Word for preparing professional reports and documentation.
- Basic understanding of Investor Servicing Guides and Pooling & Servicing Agreements, with knowledge of compliance requirements applicable to assigned investors.
- Proficient with PMSI Q, MSP Navigator, and investor websites to locate, analyze, and interpret reporting requirements and relevant information.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, enabling effective collaboration with clients and team members.
- Strong analytical and critical thinking skills, with expertise in evaluating information, identifying patterns, and solving problems effectively. Solid understanding of financial principles, particularly in investor reporting and mortgage servicing rights (MSR).
- Commitment to accuracy and attention to detail, ensuring high-quality deliverables. Skilled in identifying root causes of issues, developing practical solutions, and implementing improvements to drive continuous success.
- Exceptional time management and organizational skills, adept at multitasking, prioritizing tasks, and meeting tight deadlines in fast-paced environments. Demonstrates adaptability and a proactive approach to learning and growth.
- Experience with process improvement initiatives, including identifying inefficiencies and implementing opportunities for enhanced efficiency and productivity.
