We are seeking an analytical, detail-driven Fund Accountant to manage the day-to-day operations and accounting for our alternative investment funds. In this role, you will take ownership of the general ledger, process intricate capital movements, and generate monthly and quarterly financial statement reporting packages. Operating remotely on a US-aligned night shift, this role is a fantastic opportunity for an accounting professional with public audit or tax exposure who is eager to build a high-impact career in the alternative asset management sector.
Your Impact
General Ledger & Journal Management: Maintain the general ledger for assigned funds independently, recording accurate journal entries and enforcing a strict adherence to corporate accounting principles.
Capital Transactions Accounting: Calculate, verify, and record complex investor capital calls and distributions while keeping cap tables precise.
Month-End Reconciliations & Controls: Execute complete monthly bank account reconciliations and run detailed reviews of fund accruals, management fees, and expense allocations.
Financial Reporting & Statements: Produce institutional-grade monthly and quarterly financial statements, including comprehensive disclosure footnotes and investor reports.
Investor Capital Account Tracking: Prepare detailed capital account roll-forwards, tracking partnership allocations, contributions, withdrawals, and net asset valuation adjustments.
Operational Accountability: Take complete ownership of assigned portfolios, proactively researching transactional anomalies and refining standard operating accounting practices.
What You Bring
The Experience:4 to 10 years of professional experience in external audit, corporate tax, or accounting. Prior experience working within financial services or the fund administration landscape is a distinct advantage.
Technical Knowledge: A strong foundational understanding of international accounting principles, financial standards, and asset practices.
Alternative Investment Drive: A proactive willingness to learn specialized fund systems, explore complex capital structures, and broaden your knowledge of the alternative investment industry.
Soft Skills & Attributes: Outstanding organizational and communication skills, sharp attention to detail, critical thinking capabilities, and a collaborative team-player mindset.
Shift & Setup Readiness: Complete home-office readiness to work a full-time, remote schedule aligned with US market hours (night shift).
Credentials: A completed College Degree in Accountancy or a closely related finance discipline.
