Role Description The Functional Test Engineer is a full-time, on-site role based in Manila. This role is responsible for designing, developing, and executing functional test cases to validate software against business and technical requirements. The person in this position will perform hands-on test execution, document test results, log defects, and collaborate with developers, business analysts, and product owners to ensure issues are resolved. Day-to-day activities include preparing test plans, reviewing requirements and specifications, participating in test reviews, and contributing to the continuous improvement of testing standards and practices. The Functional Test Engineer will also support regression testing, maintain test documentation, and help ensure the overall quality and reliability of delivered software solutions.

Qualifications

1. Analyze business and functional requirements to design comprehensive test scenarios and test cases.
2. Coordinate and prepare test data required for functional and integration testing activities.
3. Execute functional test cases, document results, and capture test evidence in the designated test management tools.
4. Log, track, retest, and validate defect fixes through closure using established defect management processes.
5. Support System Integration Testing (SIT), User Acceptance Testing (UAT), Pre-Production Testing (PPT), Pre-Production Validation (PPV), Regression Testing, and Production Validation.
6. Maintain requirements traceability and ensure complete test coverage across all functional areas.
7. Collaborate with business analysts, developers, and stakeholders to resolve issues and ensure quality deliverables.
8. Utilize test management tools such as Octane, Jira, and Confluence for planning, execution, and reporting.
9. Leverage automation and API testing tools including Ginger, Selenium with Java, and Postman to support testing activities.
10. Use GenAI tools such as Microsoft Copilot, Cursor, and Claude to improve test design, documentation, analysis, and overall testing productivity.
