Software Engineering Job Description

Senior Full-Stack Developer — Native Mobile + Platform (iOS & Android) Level: Senior | Type: Full-Time | Location: Remote

About the Project

We are building a fully native iOS and Android application delivering a structured health and lifestyle transformation program. The app is the central delivery mechanism for daily video content, habit tracking, gamification, community engagement, and behavioral coaching — connected to a live commerce and automation stack.

The scope includes the consumer-facing mobile app, a web-based admin dashboard, and deep integrations with Shopify Plus, GoHighLevel, and cloud video infrastructure. This is a complex, production-grade build that demands an engineer who can architect for scale, security, and long-term maintainability from day one.

What You Will Own

Architect and develop fully native iOS and Android applications from scratch, delivering production-ready builds to both the App Store and Google Play

Build a complete backend API and database layer supporting complex user state, drip content logic, gamification, community features, and real-time analytics

Implement end-to-end Shopify Plus integration, including webhook-triggered enrollment on purchase, subscription management, and point-based redemption mechanics

Integrate GoHighLevel as the CRM and automation backbone, including behavioral triggers from within the app firing corresponding automations without manual intervention

Architect and implement a video streaming and content delivery infrastructure supporting drip release, sequential unlock logic, watch tracking, and completion marking

Build a fully functional admin web dashboard covering member management, content scheduling, community moderation, cohort management, and aggregate analytics

Implement a full gamification system including two independent tracking counters, badge awarding logic, streak tracking, and point redemption mechanics

Design and implement a secure, scalable infrastructure with automated backups, role-based access control, session management, and full audit logging

Architect the wearable device integration layer (Fitbit and Apple Watch) for phase 2, ensuring the data model and API contracts are designed for it from day one

Deliver a complete security posture: TLS 1.2+, encrypted data at rest, encrypted media storage, MFA for admin accounts, and all API integrations using scoped and authenticated keys

Non-Negotiable Requirements

Mobile Development:

• 5+ years of native mobile development for both iOS and Android in production environments
• Deep proficiency in Swift/SwiftUI and Kotlin/Jetpack Compose, or demonstrated mastery of a cross-platform native framework such as React Native or Flutter, with equivalent native performance outcomes
• Proven experience publishing apps to both the App Store and Google Play, including managing review processes, versioning, and ongoing updates
• Experience building apps with video streaming, content drip logic, and in-app media playback
• Demonstrated ability to build for non-technical, older user demographics — accessibility, clarity, and forgiving UX are requirements

Backend and Architecture:

• 5+ years of backend development with a strong command of API design, database architecture, and cloud infrastructure
• Deep familiarity with Node.js, Python, or Go for backend services
• Hands-on experience with PostgreSQL or equivalent relational databases at scale, including schema design, indexing, and performance optimization
• Experience architecting for role-based access control, audit logging, session management, and multi-tenant data isolation
• Demonstrated experience deploying to and managing production infrastructure on AWS, GCP, or Azure, including load balancing, auto-scaling, and disaster recovery

Platform Integrations:

• Verifiable, hands-on experience integrating with Shopify Plus — including webhook consumption, purchase-triggered enrollment flows, and Storefront API usage
• Experience integrating with GoHighLevel or comparable CRM automation platforms, including passing behavioral trigger data from an app into external workflow automation
• Strong understanding of webhook security, including payload signature verification
• Experience with push notification infrastructure (APNS, FCM), in-app messaging, and SMS/email campaign triggers via third-party services

Security and Compliance:

Demonstrated knowledge of HIPAA-adjacent data architecture, including when health data triggers regulated status and how to design accordingly

Hands-on experience implementing GDPR compliance, including right to access, right to erasure, and data portability across integrated platforms

Proficiency in implementing TLS 1.2+, encrypted storage at rest, OAuth 2.0 flows, and scoped API key management

Experience conducting or coordinating penetration testing and defining vulnerability management processes

Strong understanding of CCPA requirements for California users

Preferred Qualifications

Prior experience building health, wellness, or behavior change applications for older adult demographics

Experience building or integrating an AI-powered coaching or dynamic messaging layer, whether rules-based with behavioral triggers or backed by a live language model

Experience building gamification systems with independent point and badge counters, streak mechanics, and point redemption workflows at scale

Experience building pre-moderation community feeds with admin approval queues, template replies, and post-graduation community retention

Prior experience working within or alongside a digital marketing or growth agency in a development capacity

Experience managing a beta cohort to full public launch transition, including cohort management, versioning, and staged rollout

Technology Ecosystem

The app must integrate with the following live production platforms. Candidates must be able to speak to their experience with each:

• Shopify Plus (commerce and enrollment trigger layer)
• GoHighLevel (CRM and automation backbone)
• Webflow (visual design language reference for UX consistency)
• Cloud video streaming CDN
• APNS and FCM (push notifications)
