Job Description

Job Overview

Our client is seeking a detail-oriented and experienced General Accountant (US GAAP) to handle end-to-end accounting functions for a US-based client. The ideal candidate has strong general accounting experience, a solid understanding of US GAAP, and the ability to manage financial reporting, audits, and budgeting independently.

Schedule

  • Monday - Friday, 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM, Eastern Time with 30 minutes paid break (40 work hours per week)

Key Responsibilities

Full Cycle General Accounting

  • Manage end-to-end general accounting processes
  • Handle Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR)
  • Perform month-end and year-end closing of financial books
  • Conduct balance sheet analysis and account reconciliations
  • Prepare and analyze Profit & Loss (P&L) statements
  • Daily, weekly, and monthly financial dashboards
  • Monitor KPI trends
  • Executive-level financial summaries
  • Budget and Forecast reporting
  • Tailored financial reporting based on various stakeholders needs

Financial Reporting

  • Prepare monthly P&L and Balance Sheet reports
  • Track and report on key financial KPIs
  • Support management with financial insights and analysis

Audit & Budgeting

  • Assist with internal and external audits
  • Support budget preparation, tracking, and variance analysis

Market Research

  • Industry trends, competitor financial performance, and emerging market opportunities
  • Building financial models for prospective initiatives

Adhoc tasks for the CFO and Finance Directors

Requirements

  • 3–5 years of accounting experience (AP, AR, GL, and month-end close)
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field
  • CPA certification is preferred but not required
  • Strong knowledge of US GAAP
  • Advanced Excel / Google Sheets skills
  • Experience working in a BPO or freelancing environment is preferred
  • Professional written and verbal communication skills
