Role Description The Freight Forwarding Pricing Manager is a full-time remote role responsible for developing, managing, and optimizing pricing strategies across global freight forwarding services. The position involves analyzing carrier rates, market trends, and cost structures to create competitive, profitable quotations for air, sea, and land shipments. The manager will collaborate closely with network members, operations teams, and sales teams to respond to RFQs/RFPs, standardize pricing processes, and ensure timely and accurate rate proposals. Day-to-day tasks include maintaining pricing databases, negotiating rates with partners and carriers, monitoring margin performance, and preparing pricing reports and recommendations for management. The role also includes continuous improvement of pricing tools and policies to support sustainable growth across the network.
Qualifications
- Pricing and analytics skills, including experience in freight rate calculation, margin analysis, and use of Excel or similar tools for data evaluation.
- Freight forwarding and logistics knowledge, with understanding of air, sea, and land transport, trade lanes, Incoterms, and global supply chain practices.
- Commercial and negotiation skills, including experience supporting sales teams, handling RFQs/RFPs, and negotiating rates with carriers and partners.
- Process and systems skills, such as competence with TMS, ERP, or pricing platforms, and the ability to standardize and document pricing procedures.
- Communication and collaboration skills, including clear written and verbal communication in English and the ability to work effectively with international stakeholders.
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple pricing requests and deadlines in a remote work environment.
- Prior experience in a pricing, yield management, or revenue management role within freight forwarding or logistics is highly beneficial.
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Economics, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
