Freelance Shopify Merchandising Assistant (Maternity/Leave Cover)

Karma & Luck is a spiritually inspired, handcrafted jewelry and lifestyle brand. Our pieces feature natural gemstones, protective symbols and intention-driven design, sold through our Shopify store and retail locations.

The Role

Our Visual Merchandiser is on leave for a month, and we need a detail-oriented Shopify pro to keep new product launches and collection merchandising running smoothly while she's away. This is a part-time, ad hoc role. Work comes in as products and collections are ready to go live, so you'll need to be responsive during our core hours.

What You'll Do

• Open new products on Shopify from start to finish
• Write product names and descriptions in the Karma & Luck brand voice
• Set up product tags and assign products to the right collections
• Upload and organize product imagery and video
• Fill in product metadata (SEO titles, meta descriptions, metafields, alt text)
• Publish products across sales channels
• Create and configure discount codes
• Support collection merchandising, including product sorting, collection page updates and keeping the storefront looking polished

What We're Looking For

• Hands-on experience managing products in Shopify admin (product setup, collections, metafields, discounts, sales channels)
• Strong copywriting skills, with experience writing product descriptions (jewelry, fashion or lifestyle a plus)
• A sharp eye for visual detail and consistency
• Organized, reliable and comfortable working from briefs with minimal hand-holding
• Able to get up to speed quickly on an existing catalog and processes

Availability (Required)

You must be available during morning to early afternoon Eastern Time (approx. 9:00 AM – 2:00 PM EST) on weekdays, so you can coordinate with the team and turn around launches the same day.

Compensation

$1,000 flat fee for the full contract period (October 19 – November 16).
