Freelance Packaging Artwork Designer (Remote

We're looking for a meticulous freelance designer to adapt our product packaging for regulatory compliance across Southeast Asian markets. You'll take our existing packaging designs, mainly monocartons and sachets, and turn them into compliant, print-ready final artwork (FA) files, keeping the brand consistent and every detail accurate. This is a fully remote, ongoing freelance role with flexible monthly hours that depend on project volume.

Key Responsibilities:

• Adapt existing monocarton and sachet artwork to meet regulatory requirements for SEA markets, using copy supplied by our team
• Use sound design judgement to fit regulatory copy into layouts while keeping text legible, hierarchy clear and branding consistent
• Prepare accurate, print-ready FA files to printer specifications, covering dielines, bleed, colour (CMYK and spot), overprint, fonts, image resolution and barcodes
• Preflight and check print files and digital proofs online before they go to production
• Cross-check artwork against supplied copy, dielines and brand guidelines, and flag anything that looks off
• Keep file naming and version control tidy across SKUs and markets
• Liaise with printers on artwork queries and revisions, with our team kept in the loop

What we're looking for:

• At least 1-2 years of experience in packaging design, artwork adaptation or prepress
• Proven experience preparing FA files for print, ideally for monocartons, sachets or other flexible packaging
• Strong proficiency in Adobe Illustrator
• Solid understanding of print production: dielines, bleed, trapping, overprint, colour management and barcode specs
• Experience checking print files and proofs online through printer portals or proofing tools
• Exceptional attention to detail. A missing symbol or a wrong font size matters.
• Strong written English, and the ability to place supplied copy with 100% accuracy
• Reliable and responsive, comfortable working independently and remotely
• Able to commit a minimum of around 10 hours per week, with flexibility to take on more during busier months
• Portfolio required, showing packaging or FA work

Bonus if you have:

• Familiarity with labelling requirements in SEA markets
• Experience working directly with packaging printers
