ACH Fraud Processor (or Analyst/Specialist) identifies, investigates, and mitigates fraudulent Automated Clearing House transactions to minimize financial loss for banks and clients. They monitor transaction activity, resolve alerts based on risk rules, process returns or reversals, and ensure compliance with NACHA regulations. This role requires high accuracy, attention to detail, and knowledge of payment systems.
Core Responsibilities
- Fraud Detection: Monitor ACH transactions (credits/debits) for suspicious activity, such as unauthorized transfers, using risk-mitigation software.
- Case Resolution: Investigate, analyze, and resolve fraud alerts, claims, and complex issues in a timely manner.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Experience: Usually 24 years in banking operations, ACH, or fraud investigation.
- Knowledge: Strong understanding of ACH file processing, banking operations, and payment regulations.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in MS Office (especially Excel) and specialized banking fraud detection software.
- Attributes: High attention to detail, strong analytical skills, and the ability to work under tight deadlines.
- Communication: Act as the point of contact for fraud-related issues, including contacting customers to verify activity.
