About the Role
You will primarily be responsible for providing financial analysis and insight into the performance of multiple Elsevier Business Units representing over $3b worth of sales and revenue of Elsevier. You will manage a team of 4 and work closely with Business Decision Support finance teams (BDS). You will play a crucial role in building a dynamic service-oriented culture and maintaining the reputation of the Centre of Expertise.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the delivery of key management reporting and analysis to supported Business Units, Elsevier senior leadership and RELX (parent company) FP&A
- Drive the development of Budgets, Forecasts, and monthly LV for sales across regions and key products
- Participate in the quota setting process for the sales organisation
- Lead and participate in continuous improvement initiatives, including automation, implementation of GenAI tools, process redesign
- Own sales planning application (Oracle)
- Coordinate reporting and budgeting/forecasting cycles within BDS, ensuring the requirements and deadlines of Elsevier FP&A are met
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree holder
- 10-15 years of experience in financial reporting, planning, and analysis, including providing commentaries for senior stakeholders
- Have very strong analytical skills and MS Excel modeling capabilities to provide deep insights and resolve finance inquiries
- Experience with manipulating large data sets, as well as ability to quickly learn new systems and tools
- Be proactive and motivated individual with a can-do mentality, ready to take on challenges in a complex and demanding environment. Curious by nature, striving for continuous improvement
- Have a keen eye for detail without losing sight of the bigger picture
- Have strong communication skills to clearly convey financial information to a range of stakeholders in our multi-national and multi-cultural environment
- Ability to quickly learn and apply enterprise AI tools and technologies to support technical workflows and business objectives.
- Preferably experience with Oracle Hyperion products and Smartview
