TheFP&A Managerwill support financial planning and analysis for RingCentral's Professional Services (PS) organization and report to the Senior Manager of Finance. The role sits at the intersection of financial rigor and services strategy, with COGS and headcount as its primary focus areas. Its core work is improving the accuracy of COGS forecasting across Labor, Partner Delivery Fees, and Loss Contract Accruals. The FP&A Manager also supports monthly and quarterly P&L and headcount reporting, and contributes to the month-end close through purchase order (PO) and accrual review. Alongside this, the role assists the Senior Manager of Finance with revenue modeling and forecasting and helps strengthen margin visibility across a global, revenue-generating services business. The PS organization operates as a P&L business, carrying both gross margin (GM) and operating margin (OM) objectives.

The ideal candidate is a proactive, analytically strong finance professional who can diagnose variances across the PS cost base, build forward-looking COGS models, and develop actionable insights. In support of the Senior Manager of Finance, this role contributes to the end-to-end planning and forecasting cycle for Professional Services - from budget build through rolling forecasts to monthly close commentary - and partners with PS Delivery, PS Ops, PS PMO, Accounting, and Finance Systems to ensure the numbers behind staffing, project costs, and utilization are accurate and well understood.

Job Responsibilities:

Financial Planning & Analysis

  • Support the Senior Manager of Finance in the annual budget and rolling forecast process for Professional Services cost of goods sold (COGS) - with a focus on Labor, Partner Delivery Fees, and Loss Contract Accruals - as well as services revenue, margin, and headcount planning

  • Build and maintain driver-based COGS forecast models covering labor cost and capacity, partner delivery fees, and loss contract accruals, reflecting changes in headcount, utilization, project scope, and rates

  • Identify and investigate drivers of forecast-to-actual variance develop corrective models and improved forecasting methodologies to reduce forecast error over time

  • Assist the Senior Manager of Finance with services revenue modeling and forecasting activities, in addition to their core COGS forecasting work

Financial Visibility & Reporting

  • Prepare monthly and quarterly P&L and headcount reporting for the Professional Services organization, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and clear executive-ready presentation

  • Author monthly Budget vs. Actual (BvA) analyses with clear, insight-driven commentary - going beyond variance identification to explain business causality and forward risk

  • Build and maintain executive-ready dashboards and weekly financial trackers covering COGS by category (labor, partner delivery fees, loss contract accruals), margin, utilization, and headcount

  • Translate complex financial data into clear narratives for non-finance stakeholders prepare findings to support the Senior Manager of Finance

Cross-Functional Partnering

  • Partner with PS Ops, PS PMO, Accounting, Finance Systems, and other cross-functional teams to gather inputs, reconcile data, and understand the operational context behind the numbers

  • Review and validate PO invoices and entries - including PO-related journal entries and accruals submitted by Accounting - partnering with the PMO and Accounting teams to ensure accuracy and completeness through the month-end close

  • Proactively surface COGS risks and opportunities - labor cost, partner delivery fees, loss-making contracts, and resource capacity - to the Senior Manager of Finance

  • Work with PS Ops and PMO to translate staffing plans, utilization targets, and project schedules into accurate cost forecasts and accruals

Special Projects & Process Improvement

  • Support targeted margin improvement and efficiency initiatives across Professional Services

  • Drive partner delivery accrual and loss contract accrual analysis in partnership with PMO, PS Ops, and Accounting

  • Identify gaps in current financial processes and implement scalable improvements to reporting workflows and data integrity

To succeed in this role you must have experience in:

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field

  • 5-8 years of progressive FP&A experience, with demonstrated ownership of a business unit or revenue-generating function

  • Proven experience preparing monthly and quarterly financial (P&L) and headcount reporting for a business unit or function, including close commentary and executive-ready deliverables

  • Hands-on experience with purchase order (PO) processes through the month-end close - reviewing invoices and POs, conducting thorough review of PO-related journal entries and accruals submitted by Accounting, and forecasting PO spend, in partnership with the PMO and Accounting teams

  • Proven ability to support and help drive forecast processes and produce clear, decision-ready analysis

  • Strong financial modeling skills advanced proficiency in Excel and/or Google Sheets

  • Experience with financial systems such as Anaplan, Pigment, NetSuite, or equivalent

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to distill complexity into clear business narratives

  • High attention to detail, intellectual curiosity, and a bias toward action

Desired Qualifications:

  • Experience supporting a Professional Services, Consulting, or Services Delivery organization in a SaaS or technology company

  • Understanding of utilization, bill rates, and resource-driven margin models

  • Experience integrating AI tools into daily work activities to improve analytical output, automate routine tasks, and accelerate reporting and forecasting workflows

  • Project management skills and ability to manage multiple deliverables simultaneously

  • Comfort operating in ambiguous, fast-paced environments with shifting priorities

  • Willing to work on night shift ( 8am - 5pm PST )
