We are seeking an experienced
Foundation-Focused Structural Engineer to support Stark's licensed Professional Engineers in delivering accurate, efficient, and high-quality foundation design solutions. This role plays a critical part in the development of structural calculations, engineering documentation, and construction-phase support for projects requiring both shallow and deep foundation systems.
The ideal candidate has a strong technical background in foundation engineering, is highly proficient in AutoCAD, and thrives in a collaborative, deadline-driven environment. This individual will work closely with licensed Professional Engineers to develop design deliverables and ensure engineering accuracy across project phases.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the design and analysis of foundation systems, including shallow foundations, piles, and pile caps.
- Prepare structural calculations, technical analyses, and design reports for review and approval by licensed Professional Engineers.
- Develop, revise, and maintain structural drawings in AutoCAD across the SD (Schematic Design), DD (Design Development), and CD (Construction Documents) phases.
- Collaborate with internal engineering teams to coordinate designs, resolve clashes, and maintain project alignment.
- Apply knowledge of reinforced concrete and steel structural systems in foundation design; experience with timber structures is a plus.
- Assist in construction inspections through photographic documentation and site condition reviews.
- Evaluate field conditions and provide engineering judgment based on visual evidence and documentation.
- Support project teams in maintaining accurate documentation, schedules, and engineering standards throughout the project lifecycle.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in structural engineering with a focus on foundation design.
- Strong understanding of foundation systems, structural analysis, and load transfer mechanisms.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD for structural drafting and documentation.
- Experience preparing engineering calculations and technical reports for licensed engineer review.
- Working knowledge of reinforced concrete and steel structural design; timber design experience is a plus.
- Ability to review construction documentation and photographic inspection records to assess site conditions.
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication and coordination skills when working with multidisciplinary teams.
- Progress toward Professional Engineer (PE) licensure or equivalent.
- Experience working across multiple project phases from design through construction.
- Familiarity with foundation inspection practices and construction documentation workflows.
