AVSystem is looking for a Forward Deployed Engineer to join our Onsite Delivery team. In this role, you will act as the technical bridge between a major telecom customer and AVSystem's engineering teams in Europe.
AVSystem's solutions power large-scale device management and service activation for global telecom operators, including AT&T, T-Mobile, Vodafone, and Orange.
You will combine hands-on engineering work (integration, configuration, troubleshooting, and scripting) with direct customer engagement in a complex, large-scale telecom environment.
Location:
This is a hybrid customer-facing role combining onsite work at the customer site in Manila with collaboration with remote engineering teams.
In this role, you will:
- Build and maintain relationships with customer engineering, operations, and delivery teams
- Work closely with AVSystem engineering teams (Solution Architects, Developers, TPMs) to deliver integrations and configurations
- Support implementation and deployment activities in a production telecom environment
- Maintain understanding of project scope, dependencies, and system architecture
- Develop working knowledge of AVSystem products (UMP, ACS, device management stack)
Engineering work:
- Configure and extend the AVSystem platform (GUI-based configuration and scripting)
- Implement REST API integrations with external customer systems
- Configure dashboards and KPIs for device and service monitoring
- Participate in deployments, validation, and onsite troubleshooting
- Translate customer requirements into engineering tasks for remote teams
Post-delivery and operational duties:
- Support production integrations (L1/L2 troubleshooting, issue resolution)
- Train customer technical teams on system usage and maintenance
Requirements:
- Solid programming skills (Python preferred or similar language)
- Experience with REST API integrations or system communication
- Good understanding of networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, DNS, HTTP/S, routing basics)
- Comfortable working with Linux systems (CLI, logs, troubleshooting)
- Basic understanding of APIs and system architecture
- Strong English communication skills (daily interaction with customer and internal teams)
- Willingness to regularly work onsite at the customer location in Manila
Nice to have:
- Exposure to telecom or device management environments
- Basic networking knowledge (CCNA-level is a plus)
- Experience in integration engineering, support engineering, or Forward Deployed-type roles
- Familiarity with observability tools, containers, or virtualization
- Understanding of production delivery workflows (milestones, dependencies, collaboration)
