Qualifications & Training
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in marine engineering, mechanical fitting, or equivalent
- Valid welding/fitter certification authorized by a recognized authority
- Practical experience with marine diesel engines, generators, propulsion systems, and associated piping and fittings; familiarity with fuel, lubrication, and cooling circuits.
- Knowledge of stainless steel, steel, and aluminum components used in engine rooms, understanding of marine corrosion prevention.
- Familiarity with shaft alignment, vibration analysis basics, and basic welding (MIG/TIG) for engine room applications.
