Fishmonger

About the Role

We are looking for a skilled and customer-focused Fishmonger to join our retail team. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the quality, freshness, proper handling, and presentation of seafood products while providing excellent service to customers.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare, clean, cut, and fillet fish and other seafood products according to established standards.
• Ensure seafood products are fresh, properly handled, stored, and displayed.
• Maintain cleanliness, sanitation, and food safety standards in the seafood section.
• Assist customers by providing product information and recommendations.
• Monitor product quality, inventory, and proper stock rotation.
• Ensure seafood displays are attractive, organized, and properly labeled.
• Follow company policies and procedures on food safety, hygiene, and workplace safety.
• Support daily operations of the seafood section and perform other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as a Fishmonger, Seafood Associate, Seafood Staff, or similar role is preferred.
• Knowledge of seafood handling, preparation, and storage is an advantage.
• Strong attention to cleanliness, food safety, and product quality.
• Customer-oriented with good communication skills.
• Willing to work on weekends, holidays, and shifting schedules.
• Physically fit and comfortable working in a chilled/seafood environment.
• Experience in supermarket, grocery, hotel, restaurant, or food retail operations is an advantage.
