Job Summary:
A Firewall Operations Analyst is responsible for implementing firewall rules in multiple
environments in a fast paced environment. They must be able to troubleshoot firewall
connectivity issues. They must be able to produce professional diagrams, configuration
scripts and present them to small audiences at times. Additional responsibilities may
include, but not limited to project assistance and cross training with other members of
the department. The candidate will have the opportunity
to learn new network technologies and expand their future experience in other
networking technologies beyond firewalls.
Essential Duties:
Configure and implement firewall rule requests
Perform firewall and connectivity troubleshooting for firewall rule requests
Update network diagrams
Assist other team members with network connectivity requests
Education and Experience Minimum:
Associate's degree or higher in a computer science related field
3-5 years experience in the IT field
3-5 years of Firewall configuration and troubleshooting experience with Checkpoint firewalls
Intermediate layer 2 and layer 3 experience and troubleshooting
Able to understand, interpret, and update network physical and logical
diagrams
Able to execute and interpret packet captures
Experience Preferred:
Firewall experience with ASA
Bachelor's degree or higher in a computer science related field
5+ years of experience in the networking field Important Qualities
