CFD Modelling & Technical Analysis
- Develop advanced 3D CFD models to simulate fire growth and smoke movement.
- Apply simulations to complex buildings and large infrastructure (including underground stations).
- Perform ASET/RSET assessments and tenability analyses.
- Assist to optimize smoke control, exhaust, and natural ventilation designs
Engineering Design & Documentation
- Provide input into detailed CFD modelling methodology and results reports.
- Contribute to comprehensive Fire Engineering Briefs (FEB) and Reports (FER).
- Translate complex data into clear visual outputs for non-technical stakeholders.
- Contribute towards the develop performance-based fire safety engineering solutions
Project & Stakeholder Management
- Collaborate with architects, MEP engineers, and structural teams.
- Prepare documentation and images to aid the Project Leader to liaise with fire authorities and independent peer reviewers to secure approvals.
- Manage modelling workflows to meet strict project deadlines and budgets.
Qualifications
- Degree: Bachelor's degree in Fire, Mechanical or Civil (for discussions based upon the individuals qualifications and experience).
Experience, Skills and Organisational Knowledge
- 3+ years of dedicated CFD modelling experience in fire engineering.
- Primary Software: Expert in FDS (Fire Dynamics Simulator) and PyroSim.
- Evacuation Modelling: Experience with Pathfinder and or buildingEXODUS
- Strong grasp of fluid dynamics, heat transfer, and combustion principles.
- knowledge of building codes and fire safety standards.
- Clear verbal and written communication skills for technical reporting.
