FinOps Engineer - Public Cloud

We are looking for a FinOps Engineer (Public Cloud AWS & Azure) who can bring together deep cloud technical expertise and strong financial acumen to help optimize, govern, and maximize the value of our cloud investments.

This role sits at the intersection of engineering, finance, and operations, and is critical to ensuring cloud spending is transparent, efficient, compliant, and aligned with business goals.

Required Technical Skill Set

• Monitor and manage FinOps practices for AWS and Azure
• Strong hands-on experience with public cloud services and billing models

Must-Have Competencies

• Monitor and manage cloud financial operations (FinOps)
• Ensure cloud costs are visible across teams, enabling stakeholders to understand usage and spending patterns
• Implement technical and financial strategies to reduce unnecessary spend, including:
• Rightsizing resources
• Eliminating waste
• Selecting effective pricing models
• Leveraging automation for cost control
• Partner closely with engineering, product, and finance teams to align cloud usage with business objectives
• Provide cost reports, forecasts, audits, and deep billing analysis to identify inefficiencies
• Develop or deploy tools to:
• Automate cost monitoring
• Enforce best practices
• Alert teams to spending anomalies
• Ensure cloud financial management aligns with security, compliance, and governance policies

Good-to-Have Skills

• Understanding of FinOps principles and cloud economics
• Hands-on experience implementing FinOps practices on cloud platforms
• Advanced expertise in cloud cost optimization and governance
• FinOps Certified Engineer certification (preferred)
