The Financial Reporting & Controls Lead is responsible for ensuring the integrity, accuracy, and timely delivery of financial reporting. The role oversees the financial close process, ensures compliance with applicable accounting standards, and strengthens internal controls and governance frameworks.
This position collaborates closely with internal teams and external auditors to maintain strong financial reporting practices and support continuous improvement in finance processes and controls.
Key Responsibilities:
Financial Close & Reporting
- Lead the monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes, ensuring timely and accurate reporting.
- Ensure financial statements are prepared in accordance with Philippine Financial Reporting Standards (PFRS).
- Oversee recording and reconciliation of financial transactions and ensure completeness and accuracy of financial records.
- Review financial results and provide insights to management on significant variances or trends.
Internal Controls & Compliance
- Strengthen internal controls over financial reporting and ensure compliance with internal policies and regulatory standards.
- Monitor adherence to accounting policies and ensure consistent application of accounting principles.
- Identify process gaps and implement improvements to enhance financial reporting reliability.
Audit Coordination
- Serve as the primary liaison for external and internal audits.
- Coordinate audit schedules, documentation requests, and issue resolution.
- Ensure audit findings are addressed and corrective actions are implemented.
Process Improvement & Governance
- Participate in cross-functional initiatives aimed at improving financial processes, systems, and controls.
- Support implementation of financial systems or reporting improvements.
- Ensure compliance with internal governance standards and financial reporting requirements.
Leadership & Team Management
- Provide leadership and guidance to direct reports within the finance function.
- Support the execution of finance strategic initiatives and operational priorities.
- Oversee performance management, development, and coaching of team members.
Qualifications:
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) required.
- At least 67 years of experience in financial reporting, accounting, or audit.
- Strong knowledge of Philippine Financial Reporting Standards (PFRS).
- Experience in external audit or financial reporting leadership roles is preferred.
- Solid understanding of internal controls, governance, and risk management.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
