Job Description

We have an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic and motivated Associate to join our Financial Reporting Compliance Group in Australia offering statutory financial statement compilation services to a diverse group of multinational and private clients. This is a great opportunity for an early-career accounting professional or recent CPA passer who is looking to build their technical financial reporting skills in a professional services environment.

Your role:

As an Associate, you will be part of our offshore Financial Statements Compliance team, supporting the delivery of financial statement compilation services for a diverse portfolio of clients. Working under the guidance of experienced onshore and Australian team members, you will assist with the preparation of financial statements, supporting work papers, and related compliance deliverables. Your role will include:

  • Assisting with the preparation of financial statements and supporting work papers in accordance with established procedures and templates.
  • Preparing financial statement schedules and other related documentation based on instructions provided by senior team members.
  • Completing assigned tasks in line with documented methodologies, quality standards, and team-specific instructions.
  • Working closely with onshore and Australian team members who will provide guidance, technical support, and direction on engagement requirements.
  • Following detailed instructions and escalating questions or issues as they arise to ensure deliverables are completed accurately and on time.
  • Maintaining organised, accurate, and complete documentation to support financial reporting activities.
  • Managing assigned responsibilities effectively to meet deadlines and service delivery requirements.
  • Communicating proactively with onshore and offshore team members regarding work progress, potential issues, and outstanding items.
  • Developing an understanding of IFRS financial reporting requirements, Australian compliance obligations, and professional services best practices through on-the-job training and coaching.
  • Contributing ideas for process improvements and efficiencies as you develop your financial reporting knowledge and experience.
  • Building positive working relationships with both internal stakeholders through professional and timely communication.

You bring to the role

  • A bachelor's degree in Accountancy or a related discipline.
  • CPA qualification, recent CPA board passer status, or currently pursuing a professional accounting qualification.
  • 0 to 1 year of experience in accounting, audit, financial reporting, or a related field.
  • A solid understanding of IFRS and the key principles underpinning financial statement preparation.
  • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to delivering accurate, high-quality work.
  • Excellent written and verbal English communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and the broader Microsoft Office suite.
  • Strong organisational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple deadlines effectively.
  • A positive attitude, strong work ethic, and a genuine willingness to learn and develop.
  • The ability to work collaboratively within a team while taking ownership of assigned responsibilities.
  • Previous experience gained through internships or roles in audit, accounting, bookkeeping, or financial reporting would be highly regarded.
  • Exposure to IFRS financial reporting and financial statement preparation would be advantageous.
  • Experience using accounting, compliance, or financial reporting software would be beneficial.
  • A genuine interest in building a long-term career in financial reporting, compliance, and professional services.
