Overview
An expert professional with 7–10 years of experience, responsible for delivering specialized work using standard methods and professional judgment to solve varied but related problems. They communicate complex ideas clearly to diverse audiences, mentor others, and contribute to departmental goals by leading initiatives and fostering a collaborative, high-performing team culture.
He/she will be a key player in (1) delivering accurate and complete recording and reporting of Financial Statements (2) designing process for improvements and automation (3) collaborate with peers and business partners to work productively and in achieving common goal.
Functions
- Prepares the lead schedules on financial statements (SOFP, SOCI, SOCE and SOCF) and notes to FS supporting documents.
- Reviews syndication loan interest, debt issue cost amortization, payroll and accrual entries
- Analyzes monthly, quarterly and annual general ledger movements to determine key drivers for management reporting.
- Collaborates with different departments to ensure the completeness of transactions for recognition, amortization, accrual and regular monitoring.
- Performs monthly Balance Sheet reconciliations
- Coordinates with internal and external auditors to provide requested information.
- Ensures that there are no significant audit findings.
- Participates in Financial Reporting Team discussions to provide valuable input on overall reporting process efficiency initiatives.
- Works with the IT department to discuss details on how to translate process improvements initiatives into actionable automation requirements.
- Contributes to regulatory reporting preparation to various government agencies such as COA, PSA, National Treasury and NTC.
- Delivers other ad hoc reporting requests as necessary.
Employment Standards
- Strong background on Financial Statements preparation and accounting standards knowledge
- Strong background on PFRS16 leases, PFRS 9 financial instruments, accruals and prepayment amortizations
- Strong work ethics who can independently identify, quickly analyze, communicate and solve problem with minimum supervision.
- Strong coordination, communication, judgement and collaboration skills to interact positively across all levels of organization
- Knowledgeable in financial controls and process improvement activities
- Can handle multi-tasked responsibilities and high tolerance for timeline pressure is a must.

Job Skills & Qualifications
Required:
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA)
- Minimum 7 years experience in general accounting and journal entry preparation
- Minimum 7 years experience in financial statements preparation, management reporting and GL variance analysis
- Advance skills in Microsoft Office applications, including Microsoft Word, Excel and Power Point
- Knowledgeable in accounting systems like SAP and auxiliary systems (MSS)
- Experienced accountant from telco preferred
