JOB OVERVIEW

This key role will support the finance team by ensuring the accuracy, timeliness, and compliance of financial reports. This position is ideal for individuals with a strong foundation in accounting and a keen eye for detail.

You'll assist in preparing financial statements, analyzing variances, and collaborating with internal teams to ensure data integrity. The role offers exposure to Philippine Financial Reporting Standards (PFRS), international accounting practices, and audit processes - making it a great launchpad for future growth in the finance field

RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES

Financial Reporting

• Assist in the preparation of the monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
• Support compliance with Philippine Financial Reporting Standards (PFRS) and BIR regulations
• Participate in internal and external audit preparations
• Ensure timely submission of financial reports to management and regulatory bodies
• Prepare finance review decks and participate in meetings to present financial highlights, insights and recommendations

Financial Analysis

• Conducts variance analysis and explain deviations between actual, historical and budgeted performance
• Identify financial trends and provide insights to support strategic decision-making
• Support cost analysis and profitability reviews

Compliance and Controls

• Ensure adherence to internal financial controls and company policies
• Assist in monitoring financial risks and recommending mitigation strategies
• Support documentation for audit trails, compliance reviews and tax filings

Audit & Risk Management

• Coordinate with external and internal auditors during year end audits and assessments
• Respond to audit queries and ensure compliance with audit requirements
• Monitor changes in accounting standards and industry updates and assess their implications for the company

Date Management & Systems

• Support the development of automated reporting tools and dashboards
• Maintain accuracy of financial data in ERP systems and spreadsheets
• Ensure integrity and consistency of financial databases

Process Improvement & Collaboration

• Develop and implement improvements in controllership workflows and internal controls
• Work with cross-functional teams to ensure financial compliance across departments
• Provide internal guidance on finance-related matters such as intercompany transactions

Ad Hocs

• Lead finance-related projects and initiatives and special assignments
• Stay updated on evolving accounting standards and industry trends

QUALIFICATIONS

Education:

Bachelor's degree in Accountancy

Professional Certification:

CPA preferred, or equivalent qualification; familiarity with Insurance accounting and processes required

Experience

2 - 4 years audit and/or financial accounting experience in the Philippines

Technical Skills

Strong knowledge of Philippine Financial Reporting Standards

Soft skills

Detail-oriented, proactive, strong communication and leadership skills
