About the Role:
As a Financial Reporting Analyst, you'll work closely with senior finance leaders and our Shared Services Center in Manila, contributing to high-quality financial reporting, regulatory compliance, and strategic accounting initiatives.
This role is ideal for a CPA with strong U.S. GAAP expertise, a solid financial reporting background, and an interest in working in a global nonprofit environment.
Financial Reporting
- Prepare consolidated financial statements and disclosures for CARE USA in accordance with U.S. GAAP, including quarterly subsidiary consolidation.
- Prepare monthly financial results and reports for the Board.
- Prepare journal entries and perform account reconciliations for key judgmental areas.
- Support PeopleSoft Chart of Accounts (COA) maintenance in collaboration with the CARE SSC Accounting Team.
- Research and provide guidance on accounting issues as needed.
Statutory & Regulatory Reporting
- Prepare schedules supporting CARE USA's IRS Form 990 and subsidiary tax filings.
- Coordinate with external tax service providers and support statutory reporting requirements.
- Prepare reports and financial information required by U.S. government agencies and external organizations.
- Provide financial inputs for external surveys and reports, including Forbes and BBB submissions.
Indirect Cost Rate Calculation & Audit
- Prepare pro forma and actual Negotiated Indirect Cost Rate Agreement (NICRA) calculations.
- Coordinate the submission of CARE's indirect cost rate calculation to USAID.
- Support USAID audit requests related to the NICRA approval process.
Annual State Registration & Renewals
- Coordinate the review and submission of fundraising registrations and annual reports across U.S. states.
- Prepare and submit annual Charitable Gift Annuity (CGA) reports.
- Manage other regulatory renewals, including tax exemption certificates.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accountancy.
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license required.
- Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP, including new and emerging accounting standards.
- Experience working with large ERP systems; PeopleSoft experience is preferred.
- Experience in the nonprofit sector is an advantage.
- Experience in a public accounting firm such as EY, Deloitte, PwC, KPMG, or Grant Thornton is an advantage.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with teams across different functions and locations.
