Financial Reporting Accountant

Unlock Your Potential!

At TOA Global, we have a deep commitment to empowering individuals to excel in their enterprises, careers, and communities. Our global footprint stretches across Australia, New Zealand, North America, the Philippines, South Africa, and South America, supporting our global clients across the accounting, corporate finance, and public practice industries.

We are on the hunt for a sharp and seasoned Financial Reporting Accountant to join our team in Cebu. In this role, you will be the absolute go-to expert for complex financial reporting, crafting IFRS-compliant general-purpose financial statements, building robust audit-ready workpapers, and holding the line as the lead contact for external audits. Operating in a flexible hybrid structure out of our premium Cebu facility, this position is ideal for a professional who thrives on technical depth, operates with strong independence, and brings the kind of initiative that drives corporate financial strategy forward.

Your Impact

  • Standards Champion: Prepare high-quality, general-purpose corporate financial statements that are fully compliant with International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) and applicable global accounting disclosure rules.
  • Position Paper Pro: Thoroughly research, document, and deliver well-reasoned, highly technical accounting position papers to guide complex operational decision-making across the business.
  • Model Architect: Build and maintain sophisticated, automated supporting valuation models and backing workpapers for comprehensive audit verification-including asset impairment models, derivative calculations, and complex direct/indirect cashflow models.
  • Audit Frontliner: Step up as the primary, authoritative point of contact for external auditors. Manage technical inquiries, coordinate background schedules, track firm deliverables, and ensure the entire audit process runs smoothly from planning to final sign-off.
  • Process Leadership: Proactively identify systemic reporting risks, upgrade validation templates, and ensure disclosure workpapers are structured seamlessly to mitigate year-end reporting adjustments.

What You Bring

  • The Experience:Approximately 6-7 years of progressive experience in corporate financial reporting or public accounting audit services at a senior or assistant controller level.
  • IFRS Fluency: Proven, hands-on IFRS application experience is essential. You know the modern standards deeply, understand complex disclosure mechanics, and can confidently defend technical ledger positions.
  • The Credentials: A Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance is required. Holding an active CPA or CA certification is highly preferred and will significantly set your application apart.
  • Global Perspective (Preferred): Practical experience working within international reporting frameworks-particularly US GAAP, South African, or New Zealand compliance environments-is a strong operational advantage.
  • Self-Starter Energy: Strong professional independence, critical thinking, and proactive initiative are non-negotiable. You confidently identify system gaps, formulate solutions, and drive files to completion without needing explicit direction on the obvious.
  • Communication & Negotiation: Elite written and verbal English communication skills, with the technical vocabulary required to draft clear audit position notes and negotiate complex disclosures with corporate partners.
