FINANCE MANAGER – FP&A & FINANCE OPERATIONS

ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY
We are partnering with a fast-growing company in the solar and renewable energy sector that is entering its next stage of growth and preparing for Series A.
We are looking for a Finance Manager – FP&A & Finance Operations who can bridge finance, operations and leadership—bringing stronger financial visibility, structure and accountability as the business scales.
This is not simply a reporting role. The successful candidate will help leadership understand what the numbers are saying, what is driving them operationally, where risks are emerging, and what actions need to happen next.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Financial Planning & Business Partnering
- Lead budgeting, forecasting and financial planning across the business.
- Develop rolling forecasts covering revenue, margins, operating expenses, cash flow and working capital.
- Partner with Operations and leadership to translate operational data into clear financial insights and recommendations.
- Conduct scenario analysis to support pricing, investment, resource allocation and growth decisions.
- Identify performance gaps and work with stakeholders on corrective actions.
Management Reporting
- Own management reporting across the Profit & Loss, Balance Sheet and Cash Flow Statement.
- Develop dashboards that give leadership clear visibility into business performance.
- Ensure reporting explains not only what happened, but why it happened and what management needs to act on next.
- Improve the accuracy, consistency and timeliness of financial information.
Order-to-Cash & Working Capital
- Own and improve the end-to-end order-to-cash cycle, including billing, collections, accounts receivable and customer reconciliation.
- Establish clear accountability across teams involved in revenue and collections.
- Monitor ageing, collection efficiency, working capital and cash conversion.
- Identify bottlenecks affecting billing or collections and drive resolution with relevant teams.
- Maintain cash flow forecasts and flag potential liquidity risks early.
Finance Processes & Controls
- Develop and implement practical finance SOPs and approval workflows.
- Strengthen controls across billing, collections, purchasing, expenses and financial reporting.
- Build repeatable processes that allow the organization to scale without creating unnecessary bureaucracy.
- Drive greater accountability across teams for financial commitments and deliverables.
Operational Finance & Series A Readiness
- Partner with Operations to understand project economics, margins, costs and cash flow.
- Improve visibility into customer and project profitability.
- Support leadership with financial analysis required for growth and fundraising.
- Strengthen finance readiness through cleaner data, better forecasting, documented processes, financial controls and investor-ready reporting.
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
The ideal candidate combines strong financial fundamentals with a builder's mindset.
- Strong experience in FP&A, Commercial Finance, Business Finance or Finance Business Partnering.
- Start-up, scale-up or high-growth company experience is highly preferred.
- Exposure to solar, renewable energy, infrastructure, engineering, construction or project-based businesses is an advantage.
- Strong command of the three financial statements.
- Experience with forecasting, financial modelling, cash flow and working-capital management.
- Experience improving order-to-cash and accounts receivable processes.
- Ability to develop practical finance policies, SOPs and controls.
- Strong analytical, stakeholder management and problem-solving skills.
- Comfortable working cross-functionally with Finance, Operations and senior leadership.
- Proactive, detail-oriented and willing to challenge existing processes when necessary.
A degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business or a related field is preferred. CPA, CMA or equivalent professional qualifications are an advantage but not required.
