Role Overview
The FinOps Analyst, General Accounting is responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, supporting financial reporting, and executing month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close activities. The role ensures compliance with accounting standards, internal controls, and company policies while contributing to process improvements and financial analysis.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and post accurate and complete journal entries.
- Perform monthly and quarterly balance sheet account reconciliations.
- Execute month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing activities.
- Reconcile general ledger accounts and resolve identified discrepancies.
- Maintain the integrity and accuracy of financial data within the accounting system.
- Assist in preparing financial statements and management reports.
- Analyze financial results and explain variances.
- Support internal and external audits by providing required documentation and schedules.
- Ensure compliance with GAAP/IFRS, internal controls, and accounting policies.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Procurement, Accounts Payable, and Accounts Receivable, to ensure accurate financial reporting.
- Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes and automate routine tasks.
- Execute automation processes using KNIME and Microsoft Excel macros.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- CPA or an equivalent professional certification is an advantage.
- 0–3 years of experience in general accounting or financial reporting.
- Working knowledge of accounting principles, including GAAP and IFRS.
- Experience with ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, or similar platforms is advantageous but not required.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills with high attention to detail.
- Ability to manage deadlines, communicate effectively, and work independently as well as collaboratively.
