Fuel the Future With Us
The Finance Controller is responsible for leading and safeguarding the financial operations of a subsidiary company within the Unioil Group. This role owns three critical outcomes: ensuring the integrity and accuracy of financial reporting, maintaining rigorous internal controls and compliance standards, and providing strategic financial guidance that supports sound business decision-making. This is not a purely transactional role — it is a strategic finance leadership position that bridges accounting operations, regulatory compliance, and executive-level financial analysis. The Finance Controller works closely with business unit heads, external auditors, tax authorities, and Group leadership to ensure the subsidiary's financial ecosystem remains a genuine competitive strength.

- Consolidate financial data across the subsidiary's business units, producing management accounts that give senior leadership a clear view of overall financial position and performance
- Oversee accounts payable and accounts receivable functions, ensuring correct posting, timely settlement, and accurate aging management
- Coordinate external audit engagements by ensuring that supporting documentation, schedules, and reconciliations are prepared and available, and by managing the resolution of audit findings

- Monitor cash flow positions and prepare short- and medium-term cash flow projections, flagging liquidity risks and recommending treasury actions as needed
Tax Compliance & Regulatory Management

- Manage tax planning and structuring initiatives that optimize the company's effective tax rate while maintaining strict legal and regulatory compliance
- Liaise with external tax consultants, the BIR, and other regulatory bodies on assessments, audits, and compliance matters, ensuring all positions are well-documented and defensible

Internal Controls & Risk Management
- Design, implement, and continuously improve the internal control framework across financial operations, ensuring adequate segregation of duties, authorization protocols, and transaction controls
- Conduct regular control assessments and process reviews to identify gaps, inefficiencies, or control weaknesses, and lead remediation efforts in coordination with process owners
- Manage financial risk exposures including foreign exchange, credit risk, and commodity price risk, recommending hedging strategies or mitigation measures where appropriate
- Maintain and enforce finance policies, procedures, and approval authorities, ensuring consistent application across all business units and functions within the subsidiary
Finance Team Leadership & Business Partnering
- Lead, coach, and develop the finance team, building technical competencies, ensuring strong succession pipelines, and maintaining high standards of accuracy and accountability
- Serve as a strategic finance partner to business unit heads and the executive leadership team, translating financial data into actionable insights that drive operational decision-making
- Support commercial functions including procurement, sales, and operations with financial analysis, costing studies, and profitability assessments
- Manage relationships with banks, financial institutions, and external service providers to support the Group's financing, treasury, and financial operations needs
