Job Summary:
The Finance Controller is responsible for leading the accounting, finance, and trade finance operations of a growing multinational business. This role oversees financial reporting, accounting operations, cash flow management, working capital optimization, trade finance support, internal controls, and strategic business partnering.
Responsibilities:
• Lead monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close across multiple entities.
• Prepare and review accurate financial statements, including P&L, balance sheet, and cash flow statements.
• Deliver management reporting packages and executive-level financial analysis.
• Develop KPIs and provide actionable recommendations for profitability and operational efficiency.
• Partner with CEO and leadership on business strategy, growth initiatives, and trade finance decisions.
• Partner with sales and commercial teams to support pricing, margin optimization, customer profitability, and risk assessment.
• Analyze gross margins, landed costs, freight costs, and trade-related expenses.
• Support trade finance activities, letters of credit, supplier financing arrangements.
• Manage company-wide cash flow, liquidity planning, and receivables.
• Monitor collection efficiency and optimize cash conversion cycles.
• Manage relationships with banking partners, cash facilities, and credit arrangements.
• Evaluate financing alternatives and support business growth initiatives.
• Oversee accounting operations across US and India entities.
• Ensure accurate general ledger, AP/AR, reconciliations, and financial records.
• Oversee inventory and trade-related financial transactions.
• Analyze profitability by shipment, transaction, supplier, and product category.
• Ensure adherence to US GAAP, company policies, and regulatory standards.
• Coordinate with external auditors and maintain financial governance.
• Build and scale accounting and finance processes to support company growth.
• Identify automation opportunities and implement improved reporting tools.
• Lead and develop finance and accounting teams.
• Foster a culture of accountability, operational excellence, and continuous improvement.
Qualifications and Requirements:
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• Minimum of eight (8) years progressive accounting experience, including Controller or senior finance responsibilities.
• Must have experience in using Zoho and QuickBooks Online.
• Experience in Microsoft Excel and financial analysis skills.
• Experience with financial reporting, cash management, trade finance, and multi-entity operations.
• CPA, CA, CMA, or equivalent professional qualification preferred.
• Experience in international commodity trading, wholesale distribution, or global supply chain environments.
• Exposure to treasury management, letters of credit, trade financing, and banking compliance requirements.
