At PayMongo, we're building the financial operating system for businesses in the Philippines. As we continue to scale, we're looking for a Financial Controller who will play a key role in strengthening our finance function and enabling better, faster decision-making across the business.
This role reports directly to the Head of Finance and partners closely with leadership to ensure financial accuracy, discipline, and scalability as the company grows.
Why this role is critical You won't just close the books. You will:
- Ensure accurate, audit-ready financial reporting
- Strengthen financial governance and controls
- Oversee high-volume fintech transaction flows (settlements, payouts, merchant balances)
- Enable leadership with reliable data for decision-making
This role directly protects PayMongos financial trust and credibility. In this capacity, you will:
- Lead end-to-end accounting operations (AR, AP, GL, intercompany, tax)
- Own the monthly, quarterly, annual close
- Deliver IFRS-compliant financial statements
- Manage audits and regulatory compliance (BIR, SEC, BSP)
- Build and enforce strong internal controls
- Partner with Product, Engineering, Treasury, FP&;A on financial impact and systems
- Lead and develop a high-performing accounting team
What we're looking for:
- Strong background in financial reporting + accounting operations
- Experience managing close cycles, audits, and compliance
- Ability to operate in high-volume, fast-paced environments
- Strong ownership, attention to detail, and execution discipline
Bonus if you have:
- Fintech / payments experience
- ERP exposure (NetSuite, SAP, etc.)
