Financial Controller is the senior accounting professional responsible for managing and safeguarding the school's financial assets and overseeing all daily accounting operations. This role ensures the integrity of all financial data, promotes fiscal responsibility, and guarantees compliance with all relevant regulations and accounting principles.
The Controller manages the accounting team (including payroll, accounts payable, and accounts receivable) and reports directly to the VP of Finance.
Qualifications
- Strong financial accounting and reporting skills, including experience with budgeting, forecasting, and month-end/year-end closing.
- Proficiency in financial analysis, cash flow management, and cost control to support data-driven decision-making.
- Knowledge of applicable accounting standards, tax regulations, and compliance requirements in the Philippines.
- Experience implementing and monitoring internal controls, risk management practices, and audit readiness.
- Advanced skills in accounting and ERP software, spreadsheets, and other financial management tools.
- Excellent attention to detail, analytical thinking, and problem-solving capabilities.
- Strong leadership, team management, and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively across academic and administrative units.
- Clear and professional communication skills, both written and verbal, for reporting and stakeholder engagement.
- Bachelor's degree in Accountancy, Finance, or a related field; Certified Public Accountant (CPA) qualification is highly preferred.
- Relevant experience as a Financial Controller, Finance Manager, or similar senior finance role, ideally within education or service-oriented organizations.
