Job Summary
The Junior Finance Controller will support the Finance Controller in overseeing financial operations, ensuring accurate financial reporting, monitoring retail performance, and maintaining strong internal controls. This role is ideal for someone who is analytical, detailoriented, and eager to grow in a dynamic retail environment.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Reporting & Analysis
- Assist in preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
- Review sales reports, store performance metrics, and inventory variance reports
- Conduct budget-to-actual analysis and highlight financial trends or discrepancies
- Support financial forecasting, cash flow monitoring, and cost analysis
Retail Operations Support
- Monitor daily store sales, deposits, and POS system data accuracy
- Review store expenses and ensure alignment with the budget
- Perform margin analysis for new and existing product lines
- Coordinate with retail teams to ensure timely and accurate reporting
Accounting & Compliance
- Assist in accounts payable/receivable monitoring and reconciliations
- Ensure timely posting of transactions and proper documentation
- Support audit requirements (internal and external)
- Help enforce internal financial controls and compliance with company policies
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accountancy, Finance, or related field
- 13 years of experience in finance, accounting, or audit (preferably in retail or FMCG)
- Strong analytical and numerical skills
- Proficiency in MS Excel; experience with ERP/accounting systems is an advantage
- Knowledge of retail accounting and inventory management is a plus
- Strong attention to detail, integrity, and willingness to learn
- Ability to work in a fastpaced, multistore retail environment
