Position Overview:

The Controller will play a pivotal role in managing the financial aspects of our two businesses. This individual will be responsible for overseeing the accuracy and integrity of financial reporting, ensuring compliance with US GAAP standards, and maintaining efficient financial processes. The Controller will work closely with cross-functional teams to provide financial insights and contribute to strategic decision-making.

Location: Remote

Contract: 10 hours per week (5 hrs for Ettitude Holdings, 5 hrs for PLNTmatter)

Responsibilities:

• Oversee the maintenance and accuracy of financial records in QuickBooks Online (QBO) and annual financial compliance for the United States and Australia businesses of Ettitude Holdings, Inc. and PLNTmatter, Inc., including but not limited to general ledger entries, reconciliations of all accounts, including international accounts, consolidation, and month-end/year-end closing processes.
• Oversee and mentor a team of 1 Senior Accounting Lead and 1 Accounting & Tax Associate (based in the Philippines)
• Develop and maintain robust internal controls, ensuring compliance with GAAP principles and industry standards.
• Produce accurate and timely financial statements, reports, and analyses for internal and external stakeholders.
• Collaborate with the leadership team to provide financial insights and recommendations that support strategic planning and decision-making.
• Own the preparation of budgets, forecasts, and financial projections.
• Provide relevant data to CPAs, and tax compliance agencies. Coordinate with external auditors and tax advisors as necessary.
• Identify opportunities for process improvements within the finance department and implement best practices, including implementing AI tools. 
• Lead strategy for financial tech stack (currently Shopify + QBO) as business needs evolve.  
• Stay current with industry trends, regulations, and changes in accounting standards, adapting the company's practices as needed.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA designation is a plus.
• Proven experience as a Controller or similar financial leadership role within an e-commerce or retail industry, 5+ years; with expertise in inventory accounting.
• Strong knowledge of US GAAP and Australia AASB.
• Proficiency in using financial software such as QuickBooks Online and Shopify for managing financial records and reporting
• Exceptional analytical skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities, with the capacity to collaborate effectively across departments.
• Strong leadership skills and the ability to manage and mentor a finance team as the organization grows.
• Experience with cross-border financial operations and currency considerations
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and adapt to changing business needs.
