Financial Controller - Construction

Connext is looking for a Finance Controller to oversee accounting operations, financial reporting, and compliance with U.S. GAAP standards. This role will manage the full accounting cycle, lead month-end close activities, support financial planning, and provide insights that drive business decisions.

The ideal candidate has strong experience in U.S. GAAP accounting, financial statement preparation, multi-entity accounting, cash flow forecasting, and construction/project-based accounting.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage the full accounting cycle, including general ledger, journal entries, reconciliations, and financial reporting

• Lead month-end close processes and ensure timely and accurate financial statements

• Prepare and review financial statements, management reports, and variance analyses

• Manage accounting activities across multiple entities and locations

• Support budgeting, forecasting, cash flow management, and working capital initiatives

• Ensure compliance with U.S. GAAP, internal controls, and audit requirements

• Review AP, AR, payroll-related reporting, and accounting documentation

• Improve accounting workflows, reporting processes, and financial controls

• Support accounting system improvements and integrations

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field

• CPA/CMA certification or equivalent accounting credential preferred

• 5+ years of progressive accounting experience

• 2+ years of Controller or supervisory experience

• Strong experience with U.S. GAAP, financial statement preparation, and month-end close

• Experience managing accounting operations for multiple entities

• Proficiency in QuickBooks Online and Microsoft Excel (financial modeling preferred)

• Strong analytical, communication, and leadership skills

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience in construction accounting, WIP reporting, Percentage-of-Completion (POC) revenue recognition, or job costing

• Experience with U.S.-based companies, private equity-backed organizations, or outsourced accounting environments
