Financial Controller - CEBU

Job Description:

The Controller oversees all financial aspects of the Bank's operations, ensuring compliance with local regulatory standards and providing strategic financial guidance to senior management. This role entails managing financial reporting, internal controls, budgeting, and analysis to support the bank's growth and stability.

Responsibilities:

1. Financial Reporting: Prepare and review financial statements in accordance with Philippine Financial Reporting Standards (PFRS), ensuring accuracy, completeness, and compliance with regulatory requirements.

2. Budgeting and Forecasting: Develop annual budgets and financial forecasts for the Bank's operations, collaborating with department heads and senior management to align financial plans with strategic objectives.

3. Financial Analysis: Conduct comprehensive financial analysis, including variance analysis, trend analysis, and profitability assessment, to provide insights into performance drivers and support decision-making processes. This shall include maintaining and improving the Bank's current Expected Credit Loss (ECL) Model.

4. Internal Controls: Establish and monitor internal controls to safeguard assets, mitigate risks, and ensure compliance with Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP) regulations and other applicable laws and guidelines.

5. Audit Management: Coordinate external audits and regulatory examinations, liaising with auditors and regulators to facilitate the audit process and address any findings or recommendations.

6. Regulatory Compliance: Stay updated on BSP regulations, circulars, and guidelines relevant to banking operations, ensuring the bank's compliance and timely submission of required reports and filings.

7. Team Leadership: Lead and mentor the finance and accounting team in the Philippines, providing guidance, training, and performance feedback to ensure high-quality work and professional development.

8. Process Improvement: Continuously assess and enhance financial processes, systems, and controls to improve efficiency, accuracy, and effectiveness in financial operations.

9. Strategic Planning: Collaborate with senior management to develop and execute financial strategies and initiatives aligned with the bank's business goals and objectives.

10. Undertake special projects and initiatives as assigned by senior management, leveraging financial expertise to support business growth, operational efficiency, and risk management.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in accounting; CPA license is preferred.
• Minimum of 10 years of experience in financial controlling, preferably within the banking sector.
• Extensive knowledge of financial regulations and reporting standards specific to banking.
• Strong analytical and leadership skills with the ability to drive financial strategy.
• Proficiency in financial software and banking systems.
• Background in banking is essential.
• Must be willing to work full-time onsite at the Cebu Head Office in Capitol (no relocation package provided).
