Financial Controller (Acumatica)

We are seeking an experienced, strategic full-time Financial Controller (Advisory) to serve as a senior finance advisor across two independent operating entities under common management. Reporting directly to company leadership, you will provide financial governance and strategic guidance without managing direct operational activities. You will be responsible for maintaining separate books, rolling cash flow forecasts, and capital expenditure analyses, while turning job cost, inventory, and AR/AP data into actionable insights that maximize profitability.

Responsibilities

• Cash Flow Planning & Capital Expenditures: Maintain separate annual cash plans and rolling 13-week cash forecasts tied to capacity and backlog for each entity. Evaluate capital purchases for ROI, payback periods, and financing options.
• Financial Strategy & Margin Analysis: Advise leadership on growth, risk, debt/credit structures, and banking relationships. Model pricing and margins by work type across both entities for side-by-side comparative analysis.
• Entity Separation & Governance: Maintain complete financial separation between entities, properly document intercompany transactions or shared cost allocations, and develop corporate governance procedures.
• Financial Policy & Accounting Practice: Set internal controls, financial policies, and month-end close standards. Establish best practices within the ERP system, recommend purchasing approval limits, and coordinate tax planning with external CPA firms.
• Working Capital & Performance Tracking: Monitor receivables, payables timing, and working capital performance to identify which work types, customers, and job estimates generate maximum profitability.

Requirements

• CPA, ACCA, CMA, or equivalent professional accounting credential.
• 10+ years of progressive finance experience, with at least 5+ years at a Controller or CFO level.
• Proven experience managing finances across multiple related entities under common ownership, including intercompany governance.
• Industry expertise in manufacturing, job-shop, or project-based operations (including job costing, WIP, and inventory accounting).
• Strong working knowledge of US GAAP and US small-business tax considerations.
• Advanced financial modeling capabilities in Microsoft Excel and excellent written English communication skills.

Highly Regarded Experience:

• Prior hands-on experience using Acumatica ERP or similar manufacturing ERP platforms.
• Experience evaluating corporate legal filings, governance documents, and entity structures.
