Based locally, the role partners with management, regional finance leaders, auditors, banks, and advisors. Responsibilities include supporting audits, lender requirements, process reviews, and operational finance priorities, with occasional travel within the Philippines. Job responsibilities:
Financial Reporting and Tax Compliance
- Lead the monthly, quarterly, and annual close process and prepare accurate financial statements and management reports and co-ordinate tax lodgements
- Ensure compliance with PFRS/PAS, company accounting policies, and applicable statutory reporting requirements in the Philippines
- Oversee general ledger integrity, balance sheet reconciliations, journal controls, and financial reporting timetables
- Provide timely and insightful reports to management to support decision-making, planning, and performance monitoring
Internal Controls and Audit Management
- Design, maintain, and strengthen internal controls across accounting, treasury, payment, and reporting processes
- Coordinate external audits, statutory audits, and internal reviews, ensuring audit readiness, timely delivery of schedules, and closure of findings
- Monitor compliance with tax, regulatory, and corporate filing requirements and maintain complete and accurate supporting documentation
Banking, Treasury and Debt Management
- Manage local banking relationships, bank account administration, cash positioning, and funding requirements in the Philippines for acquisitions and new constructions
- Oversee debt servicing schedules, lender reporting, covenant tracking, and supporting information requests from financial institutions
- Partner with leadership on liquidity planning, working capital management, and financing-related analysis
Process Improvement and Team Leadership
- Drive improvements in finance processes, reporting accuracy, and close efficiency through standardization and automation where appropriate
- Support implementation and optimization of finance systems and reporting tools while ensuring data quality and control effectiveness
- Partner closely with Philippines President to support financial decision making, treasury management and active financial reporting.
- Contribute to Peregrine Group budgeting, forecasting, and business planning by providing reliable financial information and control insights
- Support special projects, policy enhancement, and finance transformation initiatives as required by management
Job requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Accountancy, Finance, or a related discipline; CPA is preferred
- 8–12 years of progressive accounting and finance experience, including leadership responsibility in controllership, financial reporting, or audit
- Strong working knowledge of Philippine Financial Reporting Standards (PFRS/PAS), statutory reporting, and compliance requirements with relevant Philippine regulatory bodies
- Proven experience in internal controls, external and statutory audit coordination, month-end and year-end close, and management reporting
- Experience managing banking relationships, debt facilities, cash flow oversight, and covenant or lender reporting within the Philippines is highly regarded
- QuickBooks experience would be beneficial but is not required
