Financial Control Analyst
Responsible for ensuring accurate financial records, compliance with regulations, and providing insights to support business decisions. Key tasks include managing General Ledger and Sub-Ledger processes (journal entries, reconciliations, accruals, inter-company transactions, and reporting). The role applies accounting knowledge and analytical skills to improve processes, resolve moderately complex issues, and support cross-functional initiatives. It also identifies financial risks and opportunities, aligns accounting practices with business objectives, and contributes to strategic initiatives through financial analysis.
Position Responsibilities
1. Accounting & Reporting
- Execute Record-to-Report processes: record transactions, validate intercompany agreements, and ensure accuracy of financial records.
- Manage month-end close: perform journal entries, accruals, reconciliations, and approve entries per compliance standards.
- Oversee benefits and compensation accounting: collaborate with HR, review payroll inputs, and analyze compensation trends.
- Support financial reporting: ensure accuracy and compliance for statutory and management reports.
- Provide analytical support: develop reports, conduct ad-hoc analyses, and validate incentive payouts.
- Offer accounting advisory: guide on complex matters, interpret new standards, and assess financial impact of strategic initiatives.
2. Cost Management & Planning
- Apply cost accounting concepts: analyze cost drivers and variances.
- Support budgeting and forecasting: review inputs and variance analyses.
- Manage expenses: review allocations, analyze variances, and reconcile T&E accounts.
3. Process, Controls & Systems
- Ensure process compliance: adhere to SOX controls and identify improvement opportunities.
- Utilize ERP systems: manage cost centers and support automation.
- Maintain system administration: review account structures and ensure proper setup.
4. Collaboration, Projects & Stakeholders
- Communicate financial information clearly to stakeholders.
- Participate in projects: process transitions, audits, and system enhancements.
- Support finance modernization initiatives.
- Provide guidance to team members and foster cross-functional collaboration.
Required Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA or equivalent preferred.
- Experience: 35 years in accounting processes (R2R, P2P, O2C), financial reporting, cost management, and compliance.
- Skills & Knowledge:
- Strong understanding of IFRS/US GAAP and transactional accounting.
- Proficiency in ERP systems (SAP, Oracle); familiarity with Fieldglass and Ivalua is a plus.
- Working knowledge of cost accounting and financial planning techniques.
- Ability to identify automation opportunities and recommend system enhancements.
