The Financial and Operations Audit Manager is responsible for planning, managing, and overseeing financial and operational audit engagements to provide independent and objective assurance on the adequacy and effectiveness of governance, risk management, internal controls, and operational efficiency across the organization.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Plan, lead, and supervise financial and operational audit engagements in accordance with approved audit plans and professional standards.
- Assess the adequacy and effectiveness of financial controls, operational processes, and risk management practices.
- Review financial reporting processes, operational performance, compliance with policies, and regulatory requirements.
- Identify control weaknesses, inefficiencies, and improvement opportunities, and recommend practical, risk‑based solutions.
- Prepare and review audit programs, working papers, and audit reports ensuring accuracy and completeness.
- Present audit results, observations, and recommendations to senior management and the Audit Committee.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement agreed-upon corrective actions.
- Monitor the implementation of agreed audit recommendations and corrective actions.
- Lead, coach, and evaluate audit staff and support their professional development.
- Coordinate with external auditors and regulators, as necessary.
- Uphold the independence, objectivity, and integrity of the internal audit function.
- Stay up-to-date with changes in accounting standards, regulations, and best practices.
- Provide advisory support to management on matters related to financial reporting, risk management, and compliance
- Participate in ad-hoc projects or fraud investigations as needed
Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field. CPA license required.
Experience:
- At least 7-8 years of relevant experience in internal audit, external audit, or risk management.
- Minimum of 2-3 years in a supervisory or managerial audit role.
- Experience covering both financial and operational audits is required.
Qualifications:
- Strong understanding of financial auditing, operational auditing, internal controls, and risk management frameworks.
- Demonstrated leadership and people‑management capability.
- Ability to exercise sound judgment, independence, and professional skepticism.
- Professional certifications such as CIA, CRMA, CISA, CFE, or an MBA are an advantage.
- Strong knowledge of auditing standards, internal control frameworks, and risk‑based auditing.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency in audit tools, data analysis, and Microsoft Office applications.
- Ability to manage multiple engagements and meet deadlines.
- May need to travel or conduct field audits, as required.
