Job Description:

We're looking for a Financial Analyst to join our Finance team at Manulife In this role, you are responsible for WAM Hong Kong accounting and reporting processes and controls, supporting the monthly close and regional entries, driving regional projects and initiatives, and coordinating regional efforts on process standardization and documentation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Monitor Accounting and Reporting Processes: Oversee WAM Asia's accounting and reporting processes and controls to ensure accuracy and compliance
  • Support Monthly Close Activities: Assist in the monthly close process for WAM Asia, including the preparation of journal entries, financial statements, and management reports
  • Expense Management and Reporting: Handle office expense payments and fee receipts efficiently, ensuring timely and accurate expense reporting and allocation calculations
  • Intercompany Reconciliation and Invoice Management: Perform monthly intercompany balance reconciliations and prepare/review fee and debit note invoices promptly
  • Audit and Finance Support: Maintain control documentation, prepare audit requests, and support regional finance initiatives and projects related to accounting and reporting

Qualifications:

  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) Certification
  • Prior experience for over 2 years in a Finance role, insurance or Investments experience would be an advantage
  • Amenability and readiness to work onsite and from home anytime (dependent on business need AND/OR current external environment/situation
  • Adaptability and Multitasking: Proven ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-performing, and collaborative team environment while managing multiple, constantly changing priorities and ad-hoc requests
  • Technical Proficiency: Extensive experience with MS Excel, including proficiency in Macros and other Excel add-ins; knowledge of general ledger reporting tools and systems, with experience in Essbase, Infor, and Power BI being an advantage
  • Interpersonal and Communication Skills: Strong interpersonal skills and excellent written and verbal communication skills, facilitating effective interaction with both business and finance colleagues
  • Independence and Initiative: Proven self-starter with the ability to work independently with minimal supervision, proactively executing and owning processes and controls
  • Team Collaboration and Offsite Support Experience: Excels in a team environment and has experience providing offsite support to business functions
