About the Role

As a Financial Analyst, you will bring financial discipline and strategic clarity to a complex, product-driven business. You will connect data across sales channels, product lines, and logistics to uncover performance drivers and unlock margin opportunities. With direct access to leadership, your analysis shapes key decisions on pricing, profitability, and cost structure. This role is built for a commercially minded analyst who values ownership, thrives in a high-accountability environment, and delivers insights that move the business forward.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, Economics, Supply Chain, or a related field
  • At least 3 years of experience in financial analysis, business analytics, cost analysis, or a similar role
  • Experience in distribution, wholesale, retail, consumer products, or e-commerce preferred
  • Advanced proficiency in MicrosoftExcel, including pivot tables, advanced formulas, Power Query, Power Pivot, data modeling, macros or VBA, and dashboard creation
  • Working knowledge of ERP systems, with direct experience in Sage 500 or similar mid-market ERP for financial reporting, sales data extraction, and general ledger or inventory analysis preferred
  • Solid understanding of sales commission and royalty structures, product profitability analysis, and basic freight and logistics principles
  • Strong analytical mindset with the ability to manage complex datasets, identify trends, and translate findings into actionable insights
  • Detail-oriented, highly organized, and capable of managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to explain financial and operational concepts to non-finance stakeholders
  • Proactive self-starter with the ability to take full ownership as an individual contributor

Key Responsibilities

  • Extract, prepare, and distribute regular and ad hoc reports from Sage 500 ERP, including sales performance by channel, product-line profitability, gross margins, customer and territory analysis, and variance against budgets and forecasts
  • Conduct in-depth analysis of sales trends, pricing strategies, product mix, and channel performance across domestic and international markets to identify opportunities for margin expansion, revenue growth, and operational improvement
  • Calculate and process sales commissions and royalties accurately and on time; maintain tracking models in Excel, ensure compliance with contracts and policies, reconcile discrepancies, and support audit requirements
  • Analyze outbound shipping data, including parcel and LTL, to evaluate carrier performance and select optimal carriers and routes based on weight, dimensions, zones, and destinations
  • Identify cost-saving opportunities through carrier consolidation, packaging adjustments, volume negotiations, and mode optimization
  • Partner with operations and shipping teams to implement freight recommendations, monitor carrier KPIs, track freight expense trends, and forecast logistics costs
  • Support annual budgeting, rolling forecasts, and financial modeling for sales, profitability, commissions, royalties, and freight expenses using advanced Excel tools
  • Develop and maintain dashboards and key performance metrics related to sales, margins, incentive payouts, and freight efficiency; prepare executive summaries and presentations for leadership
  • Improve data processes, Excel models, and integrations with Sage 500 to enhance accuracy, automation, and reporting speed in a fast-paced environment
